Suboxone Treatment Across Wisconsin
Whole-Person Care, Not Just a Prescription
Buprenorphine treatment by secure video with the same Wisconsin physician every visit. Mental health, physical health, and medication — treated together, because they belong together. Statewide access, honest pricing, cash-pay welcome.
Why Lotus Is Different
Most Suboxone clinics do one thing: write the script and keep the line moving. That works for some people. It doesn't work for most.
If you're living with opioid use disorder, chances are you're also carrying something else — depression, anxiety, chronic pain, a thyroid that's been off for years, sleep that never feels like sleep. Those things don't politely wait while you get stable on buprenorphine. They shape whether stability actually sticks.
At Lotus, Dr. Aaron Rosenberg treats the whole person. That means one physician handling your primary care, your mental-health medications where appropriate, and your buprenorphine under one roof — with longer visits, so there's actually time to talk.
Addiction is a medical condition, not a moral failing. We treat it that way — with compassion, science, and room for the fact that recovery rarely runs in a straight line.
What's Included in Your Care
- Initial video consult with Dr. Rosenberg for intake and treatment planning
- Buprenorphine / buprenorphine-naloxone (Suboxone) prescribing when clinically appropriate
- Labs when clinically indicated (LFTs, urine drug screens, other monitoring), routed to a local or mobile lab
- Prescriptions sent to your preferred local pharmacy
- Secure messaging via Spruce for questions between visits
- Regular follow-ups by video — same physician, not a call center
- Full primary care included — same physician manages everything
Telemedicine Is Working Today
Our buprenorphine telemedicine workflow is live inside our Elation EHR right now. You do not have to wait for a system to come online. If you're medically appropriate for telehealth buprenorphine, you can start on secure video — no drive, no waiting room, no lobby.
Federal rule, stated plainly: Patients starting buprenorphine via telehealth need one in-person visit with their prescriber within six months of the first telehealth prescription. For Lotus patients, that visit happens at our Mequon, Wisconsin office. After that visit, ongoing care continues by telehealth. We'll tell you about the in-person requirement at intake — not buried, not surprise.
If federal rules change, we update our process and tell you directly.

Drug Testing — Our Approach
Access to medication comes first. Drug testing is part of clinical care, not a gate that keeps you from treatment.
As clinically indicated — Testing happens when it supports your care, not as a punitive schedule.
Multiple options — Point-of-care screening in our office, oral swab, or routed to a local lab when more convenient.
Insurance billed when possible — Cash-pay respected when not.
Credit for existing history — Documented stability from a prior provider counts; we factor it in.
We do not discharge patients for using illicit substances, whether you tell us about it or it shows up on a drug test. Our bias is always toward keeping you in care.
Counseling and Therapy
Buprenorphine works better when it's paired with human support. We don't force a specific model, and we don't charge you for counseling you didn't ask for.
Already have a therapist?
Great. We coordinate with them.
Need one?
We can share a referral list and help you find a local provider who takes your insurance or a cash-pay rate that works.
No counselor right now?
That's not a reason to delay medication. We'll start care and help you find support on parallel tracks.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this HIPAA compliant?
Yes. Video visits run on a HIPAA-compliant platform. Messaging runs on Spruce.
Do I have to come in person?
Yes, once — within six months of your first telehealth buprenorphine prescription, at our Mequon, Wisconsin office. After that visit, ongoing care continues by telehealth. We'll tell you about this up front and help you plan the trip.
What if I'm having a tough day or cravings between visits?
Message us through Spruce or call. For a mental-health crisis, call or text 988. For any life-threatening emergency, call 911.
Do you take insurance?
We don't bill insurance for membership. Your buprenorphine prescription can run through your pharmacy benefit (insurance or cash-pay) the same as any other prescription. We can provide a superbill for office services you may want to submit for out-of-network reimbursement. HSA and FSA generally cover Standard membership.
Do you order labs?
Yes, when clinically indicated. Labs are routed to a local draw station, a Fullscript-affiliated lab, or a mobile phlebotomist depending on what's easiest for you.
Can I add this to my existing Lotus DPC membership?
Yes. Many buprenorphine patients become full Lotus DPC members so one physician manages all their care. It's optional.
What if I live outside Wisconsin?
This program is Wisconsin-only at launch. Dr. Rosenberg is also licensed in New Mexico, but buprenorphine care in New Mexico isn't part of this program.
What happens if I relapse?
You tell us, and we work through it together. Medication access is not contingent on a perfect record. Recovery isn't linear, and your care shouldn't pretend otherwise.
