Note on Controlled Substance Prescribing

The DEA telemedicine flexibility (allowing prescribing of controlled substances without a prior in-person visit) is currently extended through December 31, 2026, subject to change. We will keep you informed of any changes that affect your care. If your treatment plan requires a controlled substance prescription, we will discuss what that means for your specific situation before you enroll.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a Wisconsin-licensed physician legally treat me in New Mexico?

Yes. Dr. Rosenberg is licensed to practice medicine in both Wisconsin and New Mexico. We document your consent to the telemedicine relationship at intake and make the scope of care clear in writing.

Is there a six-month in-person visit requirement?

For most primary care needs, no. Certain controlled-substance prescriptions carry federal in-person requirements, and we will tell you plainly and up front if your treatment plan falls into that category. If an in-person visit is required and traveling to Wisconsin is not realistic for you, we will help you find a local New Mexico prescriber.

Do you handle emergencies?

No. Lotus Direct Care is not a substitute for emergency care. If you're experiencing a medical emergency, call 911. For mental-health crises, call or text 988.

Can I use my HSA or FSA?

HSA and FSA can generally be used for Standard membership ($150/mo individual). The Lotus Plus add-on ($129/mo) is not HSA-eligible. See our HSA FAQ for the full explanation, and check with your plan administrator for your specific situation.

What if I need to see a specialist?

We coordinate with specialists in New Mexico and beyond. Most routine specialist referrals can be handled through your existing insurance (if you carry one) or at negotiated cash-pay rates.

What if I want to cancel?

Membership is month-to-month with a three-month minimum, 30-day written notice to cancel, and a $99 re-initiation fee if you leave and return.
